Harvest Celebration & Scarecrow Competition
On Sunday 24th September we held our harvest event, with a variety of activities to involve the local community.
The weather was kind as participants for our first Scarecrow competition assembled their creations on the playing field. Prizes were awarded to three particularly fun specimens, however all efforts were greatly admired.
The afternoon showcased many finely baked cakes and some lovely home grown vegetables, plants and herbs.
The auction proved quite popular with most people heading off with a tasty bite for later.
The afternoon ended with the raffle and the lucky winners were pleased to receive their prizes. We are very grateful to these kindly doners:
- Bawdeswell Garden Centre, who gave two £10 gift cards
- Billingford Parish Council, who provided a £25 cash prize
- A village resident who donated some freshly laid eggs
